MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Christmas…. Just a few short days and it’ll be here!! Oh, the joy on the faces of family and friends. The gleam in the eyes of all the young at heart as a flurry of wrapping paper bursts into the air with the opening of gifts wrapped so carefully. So much cheer and good will that surrounds and fills us as we celebrate the world’s greatest Gift of all. A Gift much sought after throughout the ages. The prophets, the wise men, and in reality, all of mankind’s hearts whether they’ve realized it or not yearn for this Gift. A Priceless Gift offered freely to one and all. A Precious Gift which we have a choice to reject or receive. The Cornerstone for those humble enough to believe and a stumbling block that breaks the barrier of pride. A Gift that’s baffled the spiritual realm and wise earthly sages alike, yet this gift reveals the Father’s very essence. Mercy and Redemption available for all…
By virtue of the Love that He is, God gave Himself through His only begotten Son. The riches of heaven and earth are all wrapped up in Him. The glory of whom each of us were created to be is revealed through Him. Restoration of our relationship with God our Creator is received as a result of His Sacrifice which began with His coming to earth as a small, innocent, vulnerable human baby. His Trust in the Father that He lived out through His years on earth as a sinless man was an example for us all. The laying down of His life began at His conception, not the cross. His death paid the final price tag that bought mankind’s freedom from the bondage of sin which had kept us separated from God and the fullness of who we were created to be. But His death would have been worthless if not for His sinless life. He loved us so much, He came down to earth to say, “Look, let me show you how it’s done son”; then when it was time, with His last breath, He forever shattered the chains of destruction that surrounded us!
As we celebrate this Christmas, amidst the gifts, food, fun and fellowship, don’t forget to reflect on this Greatest Gift of All and what He means to your life. He is The Gift that takes a life-time to fully unwrap….
